Battery Recycling
Batteries come in all shapes and sizes, but the small ones are just as toxic as the rest.
Many batteries contain mercury, lead, and other hazardous heavy metals that, when dumped in a landfill, leach into
our groundwater, streams and lakes.
Our goal in providing this service is to create a more convenient way for you to recycle batteries. Please do your
part and help clean the environment with the Benzie Conservation District. Stop by our office in downtown Beulah and get rid of those unwanted batteries!
We do our best to accept all batteries, but some are too large for us to store in-house. Old car batteries can
usually be exchanged upon purchase of a new one at most local auto parts stores. Please call us at (231) 882-4391
for more information about where to take these items.
