Doug left his hometown of Ionia when he accepted the position as President of West Michigan National Bank in Frankfort . He begins his second year as a returning member along with his wife, Sally.

Doug has a BS in Biology from Lake Superior State and a MBA from Grand Valley State University . While living in Ionia he served on the Ground Water Stewardship Team. He credits his time in the Boy Scouts for his love of the outdoors.

He sees the Conservation District as a resource for information and conservation practices for anyone in the community managing the land they own; whether it is farmland, streams, rivers, lake fronts or forests. Local conservation districts create the potential for people to connect with many community agencies that represent conservation and the environment.

“We are the hub of a wheel, linking all the groups together,” he says.
