Adopt-a-Beach: Elberta Beach Clean-up
The Adopt-a-Beach program is a regional volunteer opportunity sponsored by The Alliance for the Great Lakes. Each year nearly 15,000 volunteers participate in beach clean-ups along the shores of all five great lakes.
Each year the Benzie Conservation District co-hosts with Elberta Parks & Rec Dept., an adopt-a-beach clean-up at Elberta Beach, and we are always seeking volunteers to help remove trash and debris from the shoreline. What makes this program special is that all of the results are tracked and the data is entered into an online system that helps to inform regional policy and educate the public.
Make a difference on this day, Saturday, September 16th, with the larger global community celebrating International Coastal Cleanup Day (sponsored by the Ocean Conservancy).
