In 2012, Benzie Conservation District was gifted this wild, ecologically diverse property by Andrea Hinkle. Named in her honor, Hinkle Nature Preserve protects the integrity of the forest, soil, and water, while offering a space to discover the diversity of northern Michigan wetlands.

About this property
Hinkle Nature Preserve features a short, one-way, single-file trail. This trail starts as a path through the woods before transitioning to a narrow boardwalk, limiting ecological impact from human disturbance. At the trail’s end, enjoy a viewing platform that overlooks Herring Creek.
Property rules:
This trail was made possible thanks to generous support from a Rotary Charities Seed Grant, the Oleson Foundation, Eco-SEEDS volunteers, and many other partners.
