Jessica Barnard: Communications & Development Coordinator

With a BA in Writing from Grand Valley State University, Jessica is passionate about using storytelling and design to inspire positive change for the environment and community. In her role, she writes about the latest BCD updates and events, leads the biannual native seedling sales, and exercises her creative muscles in designing the annual report, among other projects. Jessica also runs the front desk and enjoys helping connect you to resources and professionals who can help you reach your conservation goals.

​Since moving to northern Michigan in 2022, Jessica has been continually inspired by Benzie County's strong community spirit and remarkable natural resources. Outside of work, she volunteers on the Benzie Area Pride Network board and enjoys exploring the area, reading literary fiction, and crafting.
