Jodi Monteith: Conservation Technician

[email protected]  |  231-882-4391 x 16

Growing up on a lake in southern Michigan, Jodi’s appreciation for our freshwater paradise started early and deepened after working as a Student Conservation Associate at Arches National Park, Utah. Jodi is a graduate of Northwestern Michigan Collage’s Freshwater Science and Sustainability program, and enjoys exploring our region's many beautiful lakes and rivers. Jodi joined the Benzie Conservation District as an intern in 2016! In her current role, she coordinates the inland lakes water quality monitoring and environmental education programs.

In addition to her role at the BCD, she is a member of the Professional Ski Instructors of America and has taught alpine skiing for 20 years at Crystal Mountain Resort. She also volunteers at the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes for their Aquatic Invasive Species monitoring program. During her free time, Jodi enjoys downhill and cross-country skiing, kayaking, hiking, and watercolor painting. She can often be found walking her dogs on local trails with her husband, and spending time kids and grandchildren.
