Mike attended Michigan Technological University, majoring in Wildlife Ecology Management and minoring in Fish Biology. His main focuses at BCD include aquatic invasive species related outreach, research, and prevention strategies, and monitoring water quality throughout the region. Previously, Mike served as a seasonal technician at BCD on the Aquatic Invasive Species Pathways Program, as well as native species conservation projects in Utah and Oregon. Mike was born and raised in southwest Michigan, but looks back upon his time spent recreating in northwest Michigan as the inspiration to pursue a career in conservation. In his free time, you’ll most likely run into Mike kayaking, fishing, or hiking just about anywhere in northwest Michigan.
