Light: full sun to partial shade.

Soil: lives in a variety of habitats but prefers dry conditions and gravelly soils.

Height: can reach heights of 20’ to 25’.

This unique, picturesque plant gets its name from the soft, velvet-like texture of its twigs. As staghorn sumac grows, it forms new roots that develop into a lush colony of plants. Its foliage is vibrant green in summertime and vivid red in autumn. The female plants produce berries, which can be made into a refreshing, lemonade-like drink. The berries last through winter, providing emergency food for gamebirds and songbirds to help them survive the season.

Bareroot seedlings are 6-12".
