White pine is Michigan’s state tree. Its foliage grows in long, soft, five-needle bunches that make them appear denser than other pines. White pine welcomes a variety of songbirds and is favored by the turkey as a roost tree. These plantings provide privacy and protection from the wind; white pine is also often used as a Christmas tree. White pine’s soft wood is used for lumber and woodworking. They are not very salt tolerant and may struggle if planted along roadsides.
Bareroot seedlings are 4-8", 2 years old with 0 years in a transplant bed.
