Northern red oak is a long-lived, fast-growing tree, great for timber and woodworking. Its leaves turn a stunning reddish-purple in autumn, providing beautiful fall foliage. Its acorns are preferred by blue jays, turkeys, squirrels, rodents, deer, raccoons, and black bears.
