Eastern Redcedar (Juniperus virginiana)
This small evergreen tree, is commonly 10 to 40 feet, of pyramidal shape becoming rounder in age. Fruits pale-blue with whitish bloom, fleshy ‘berries’ (cones), Its dense pyramid shape is excellent for windbreaks and screens. Birds love its fruit. Likes full sun. Soils include acidic, alkaline, loamy, moist, rich, sandy, silty loam, well-drained and clay. Bareroot seedlings are 2-0; height is 6-12"
