The Hidden World of Aquatic Plants
Hosted by Benzie Shores District Library
When: Monday, July 13, 2026 at 5:30pm Where: Benzie Shores District Library (in the Program Room) July is Libraries Love Lakes month and Lake Appreciation Month in Michigan. The BCD is partnering with local libraries to host a variety of programs and provide curated reading lists for kids and adults. Check back with your local library and the BCD website to see what's happening in July! About: Help us celebrate lakes in July and join the Benzie Conservation District’s Aquatic Invasive Species Coordinator, Kyla Robinson, for a look at the intersection of art and ecology. Featuring magnificent paper sculptures of native and invasive aquatic plants, Kyla invites you to see the hidden world beneath the water’s surface in a new way. Whether you’re an artist, a nature enthusiast, or simply curious, the event offers a fresh perspective on how creativity and curiosity can deepen our understanding of the natural world. Following the fascinating presentation, we’ll apply these lessons hands-on and create our own origami water lilies. |
