2019 Nature Hikes

Spring Hike

When: Saturday, May 18, 10 - 12 pm

Where: Old Indian Trail, located on M-22 in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.

Trail Guide: Judy Kelly taught botany and environmental science at Henry Ford College in Dearborn, MI for 25 years. An expert naturalist and president of the Michigan Bontanical Club, Judy and her husband retired to Lake Ann in 2015. They have established a prairie garden on their property.

Winter Event...(no hike, but indoor learning!)

​More Info: Participants learned about and discussed various patterns and forms of nature’s designs, including symmetry, fractals, spirals, branching and cracking. Afterwards, they responded to the information and imagery samples by assembling a creative project using natural and man-made materials.
