About the Board and meetingsThe Benzie Conservation District is administered by our Board of Directors, who ensure the success of our mission and provide input to our policies and strategies during regularly scheduled meetings. Directors are elected by local residents at Benzie Conservation District's Annual Meeting.
The public is always welcome at Board meetings! Our Board meets the second Thursday of each month at 4:00pm in our office (280 S. Benzie Blvd, Beulah, MI 49617). Meeting dates, times, and locations are subject to change but notice will be given in advance. Board meetings are held under the provisions of the Open Meetings Act (Act 267, P.A. 1976). PLEASE NOTE: Our September 2026 board meeting has been rescheduled for September 17th at 4:00pm. |

Nominating Petitions
The Benzie Conservation District (BCD) is a local unit of government whose mission is to preserve and enhance the natural resources of Benzie County. BCD is guided by a five-member Board of Directors. On December 9, 2026, BCD will hold an election for two seats on their Board. Any individual wishing to run for office must complete and submit a nominating petition to BCD by October 2, 2026. The BCD Board of Directors has identified a need for a candidate with a financial background, but any Benzie County resident 18 years or older is eligible for candidacy. The nominating petitions, and a description of Board Director duties and term lengths, can be found below or at the BCD Office. Petitions can be sent to [email protected], or delivered to Benzie Conservation District, PO Box 408, 280 S. Benzie Blvd., Beulah, MI 49617.
