Dr. Latimore helped identify aquatic plants at the Little Platte Lake Water Tour, July 2018. | Enjoy a presentation and Q&A with our guest: Jo Latimore Department of Fisheries and Wildlife | Michigan State University Jo is an aquatic ecologist and Outreach Specialist in the Department of Fisheries and Wildlife. She is particularly interested in public participation in assessment and management of Michigan's streams and lakes; science communication, outreach, and engagement; natural resources leadership development; and improving our understanding of aquatic ecosystem health assessing responses to disturbance. As an Outreach Specialist, the majority of her work is focused on engaging individuals and organizations to promote understanding and stewardship of aquatic ecosystems. Key partners in these efforts include Michigan State University Extension and Michigan Lake and Stream Associations. Education: PhD in Fisheries and Wildlife from Michigan State University (2005), a MS in Biological Sciences from the University of Notre Dame (2000), and a BA in Biology from Albion College. |
