Wed, April 3rd, at Mills Community House, Benzonia, 6:30 to 8:30 pm
Our presenter and Naturalist, Linda Scribner, is a Certified Wild Mushroom expert, licensed to commercially harvest and sell wild mushrooms in Michigan. Linda brings dried fungi specimens, sharing mushroom biology and the key features to look for when identifying different species. Linda will teach us about the basic biology of mushrooms and help us identify edible and non-edible wild mushrooms of Michigan’s forests.
Whether you are interested in mushrooms for the table, or want to identify something you saw in the woods, please join us to learn more about the fascinating, but often misunderstood, world of fungi! Discussion will also include the ecological importance of such mushrooms in the forest.
