Quick, name 13 native wildflowers that bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, bats and other insects like! Hmmm. Well, here's a few that the District has in our custom Pollinator Seed Mix: Coreopsis, Lupine, Vervain, Aster, Milkweed, Black-eyed Susan, Hyssop, and Bergamont. Want to know more? Then this workshop is for you! WHO: Guest presenter, Scott Hughey, NRCS District Conservationist WHEN: Friday, October 28th, from 2 to 4 pm WHERE: Ron & Jan Heverly's, 3778 Crawford Rd, Frankfort (just south of Demerly Rd, on the west side. Watch for signs) WHY: Planting native wildflowers helps increase the pollinators' habitat, population, and productivity! Cider and treats will be provided. This event is free to the public, suggested donation is $5-$10. Please park on Crawford road, however, handicapped folks may use the driveway.
