Do you love Benzie's waterways? Join us on Thurs, June 2nd from 9am-3pm for the Platte River Clean Sweep, an annual event dedicated to keeping the Platte River free of garbage and debris.

Volunteers will meet at Veteran’s Memorial Park off of US 31 at 8:30am. We will be paddling down the river in small teams to pick up trash that has been thrown in the water or trapped along the banks. We ask that volunteers bring their own kayak/canoe, but if you do not have access to one please contact the district office and we will try to find one for you. We also ask that you bring your own water bottle and a life preserver.

When registering, please let us know your level of paddling experience as some parts of the Upper Platte are faster, narrower, and trickier to navigate. A complimentary tee-shirt and lunch will be provided!
