We got bugs!

This Sunday our conservation specialist, John Ransom, and a group of volunteers collected samples of macroinvertebrates from the Platte and Betsie rivers. Macroinvertebrate collection presents us with information about the quality of our streams and the health of the surrounding ecosystems. During the event volunteers collected macroinvertebrates from different habitats throughout the rivers and were then taken to the district office where they will be identified. The data from this collection event will contribute to a larger image of the quality and health of Benzie's flowing waters.
